New York saw the most capital expenditure of any city in the Americas in the second half of 2017, with $4.7bn in total.
Duranzo, Uruguay was second, seeing $4bn in capex.
Houston was third, with $2.6bn in H2, ahead of Marcona, Peru, which saw $1.5bn.
Pesquería in Mexico attracted $1.1bn in capital expenditure in the second six months of the year.
